An Invitation from the 2025 Baccalaureate Committee
May 29, 2025
Hi Seniors and Families,
As graduation weekend approaches, we want to warmly invite you to one of the most meaningful and memorable events of senior year: the Baccalaureate Service. The ceremony takes place Saturday night before graduation, June 14th at 8 p.m. in Stetson Chapel.
We are the Baccalaureate Committee, a small team of students and staff led by the amazing Chaplain Elizabeth Candido, who has been the heart and soul of this process. We’ve been working hard to make this service truly special. Don’t fret, it’s not a religious ceremony or a secret society, simply a chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate everything this journey has meant, before you toss that cap in the air.
This year’s speakers include fellow seniors Grace Cancro, who won the International Youth Silent Film Festival Award in Detroit; Silvia Gaete Lagos, a key member of the Center for International Programs; Natalie Barranco, a friendly face within the Outdoor Leadership team; and Paige Anderson, a MIAA champion in women’s cross-country. Faculty speakers include the ever-inspiring Dr. Chris Latiolais, Malcolm Smith, and Rick Barth. You’ll also hear music from the incredible Tyrus Parnell on organ, plus performances by seniors in the choir and Taiko drumming groups.
This isn’t just another event, it’s the final farewell for the Class of 2025 before graduation. It’s heartfelt, it’s joyful, and we truly believe it will be one of the highlights of your entire graduation weekend.
Hope to see you there to celebrate this moment together.
With love,
Noah Chukwuma, Erik Danielson, and Ava Williams K’25
on behalf of the the Baccalaureate Committee
